This year, the Erlwein Prize was awarded to the Integrative Family Centre of the Deutscher Kinderschutzbund e. V. (Architects: Poetzsch Architekten BDA, Dresden, client: Deutscher Kinderschutzbund e.V., Ortsverband Dresden).

About the project: The existing buildings of the former Bruno Clauß chocolate factory was extensively renovated and the halls and offices restructured to integrate new uses such as a district library, a youth centre, the headquarters of the Dresden branch of the German Child Protection Association, rooms for an intensive therapy residential group and training flats as well as conference rooms. In accordance with the design study, the former halls were converted into an open inner courtyard.
