Marstall, located in Waldenburg, Saxony, is a cultural monument in accordance with Section 2 of the Saxon Heritage Protection Act and, at the same time, presents a structure of particular historical, artistic, and urban significance. As a central component of the Waldenburg complex, the site has remained unused for over 34 years; the upcoming renovation and its conversion for public use constitute one of the most important urban development projects of the city.

Building on the existing site conditions, the former Marstall complex is now to be revitalized as an innovative hub for art and applied education, thereby continuing Waldenburg’s long-standing tradition as a center of learning. In addition to the fundamental renovation and modernization of the existing building complex, new facilities will also be created to enable a wider range of uses, including a museum, restaurant, accommodation, educational center, bistro, residential units, and archive.

At the end of last year, Saxony’s Minister President Michael Kretschmer presented the decisive funding approval, making it possible to implement the first construction phase over the next three years. Our PTAI team will act as project manager for project phases 2–5, take on overall project management, conduct the VgV procurement procedures, and manage the funding process.
