Following the complete replacement of the old building—including demolition of the old REWE store, beverage store, and pit stop—the new store finally opened its doors on November 26, 2025.
The internal opening began at 10 a.m., and the first customers could experience the new location from 12 noon. Together with the mayor of Radebeul, numerous REWE employees, planners, craftsmen, the general contractor Otto Quast – and even “August the Strong” – the new store was ceremoniously inaugurated.
The new REWE store offers:
- around 1,630 m² of retail space
- a separate Clauß bakery
- modern design with a focus on regional identity
Special features of the new building:
- DGNB Gold certification – awarded for sustainable construction
- Grapevines on the façade as a regional design element
- Innovative polycarbonate façade from Rodeca as a light-flooded façade band
A big step for Radebeul – and a strong sign for sustainable and modern local supply.
